Cultural life of the University
Today the youth upbringing process is dedicated to the development of human qualities like moral and spiritual values.
The Students Arts Palace became the traditional venue for such events of local significance as the Day of Knowledge, Day of Orthodox Christian Youth, "Pancake Week", Students Easter, Day of Slavic Writing and Culture etc. Also such university contests as "Fun and Witness Club", "A Friendly Students Family", "Student of the Year", "Miss University", "Students Spring."
The Students Palace of Culture y carries out systematic and active work on giving basic knowledge of law, developing students social activity and their high sense of civil liability. It is achieved with the support of events like Fun and Witness Club game "Everyone goes for the elections!", meeting of summer students construction teams, a Memory Day, "All the best to the orphans", "Stop drugs", "Drugs without us", etc.
The Students Arts Palace annually arranges more than 300 events with 430000 people attending and participating. Today 39 clubs are functioning in the Student’s Palace on a permanent basis with over 750 people involved.
Improving communication habits of the youth and leisure time culture represent two sides of the integrated pedagogical process in the students’ dormitory. Each faculty and institute arrange different events: meeting war veterans (World War II), scientists, deputies, contests and sport competitions. In 2008 our University campus was ranked the first in all-Russian competition among Students hostels.
The University jointly with psychological and sociological service developed a specialized course "Young leader school", intended for forming managerial qualities of students. Within the framework of the course the Students Council leaders undergo annual training.
Since 2004 a familiarization "L.I.F.T" game is offered for the first-year students. It is aimed at adaptation of former schoolchildren and forming the University corporate culture. And since 2008 the university has been successfully implementing the project "Academy of Students Council" for forming students organizational habits . "Young Voters Club" became the leader among the similar university clubs in Belgorod in 2008 and the first in the region contest among city voters clubs. The University won the second place and was awarded the diploma for the best patriotic work among students in Belgorod oblast. The University took an active part int the celebrations to commemorate the victory in the Great Patriotic War (World War II).
We have the honor to be the first again in the rank among industrial enterprises and social establishments (all forms of property) in the implementation of the program "Improving the life quality for local population." The names of the winners of the competition are placed in the city centre in the "Labor Glory Alley."
