A cooperation agreement signed at Belgorod Shukhov University
June 4, 2010 started to proceed the tour of academic and structural divisions of Belgorod State Shukhov university. The guests visited a remote access classroom (distant learning Faculty), where Dr. Getmanova (physics) was lecturing online from Moscow state University. The lecture was given for foreign students).
The visitors were met in the Students’ Arts Centre by professor Vladislav Sh.Guzairov, vive-rector on cultural and educational work. He spoke about 40 amateur artistic societies, actively working at BSTU. The visitors’ attention was drawn to the display of photos made by the students and the professors’ staff. The delegation noted high quality of the pictures.
At ten o’clock the university conference hall became the venue for the meeting of the delegation of Oman with the members of the Academic Council. The session started with the ceremony of granting a title of “BSTU Honorable Professor” to His Excellency, Dr. Abdullar Al Sarmi.
In his speech, Sergey Nikolaevich Glagolev, the Chancellor stated that our university has created the best conditions for getting high-quality higher education both for Russian and international students. Sergey Nikolaevich focused on the safe and calm atmosphere at the university and the city in general.
In reply, Dr. Abdullar Al Sarmi thanked for perfect arrangements for the visit: «Our delegation is pleased with the first milestone in cooperation between Belgorod state Shukhov university and the Ministryof education of the Sultanate of Oman. This is a great contribution of BSTU management».
Professor A. Gridchin, the presidents of the Rectors’ Council in Belgorod region pointed out that the university staff will do their utmost to train high-quality specialists to be proud of their final degree, awarded by BSTU.
Doctor of technical sciences, professor Valery S. Lesovik, vice-chancellor on research, innovative and international activity outlined the prospects of cooperation between the Sultanate of Oman and BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
Dr. Jamil Fadel, the Secretary of the Embassy of the Sultanate of Oman on Cultural Affairs in Russia gave a high estimation of the university and marked great opportunities for Omani students in Russia.
At the end of the meeting the representatives of the friendly country signed a cooperation agreement between BSTU and the Mniistry of education of then Sultanate of Oman in the field of education and science.
