Serbia is happy to meet friends

In Serbia people are always very hospitable when meeting the Russians. "Russian - brother, Russian - friend!" – they say , joyfully embracing you when learning you have come from Russia ... This  sincere, incorruptible hospitality BSTU students, who visited Serbia this summer to study at economic and language schools could experience this themselves.

Belgorod state Shukhov technological university has had long-standing business and friendly ties with Serbian institutions as well as long and well established contacts for students exchange.

According to
Victoria Ryapuhina, a representative of an innovative enterprise "International center for training and staff development", established on the basis of BSTU business incubator: "Cooperation with the Slavic countries takes a special place in BSTU international relations. The absence of a serious language barrier, similar mentality, the well-known hospitality and friendliness of both peoples, as well as the relatively low  prices and favorable visa regime allowed successful practice of student exchanges and programs. Students of our university have proved themselves as active participants in educational programs in
Serbia, Slovenia and Ukraine. These programs are scheduled for a summer holiday period, and any successful student can take part in them. One of the conditions is availability of positive references and willingness to participate in international communications. "

The Centre offers a relatively wide choice: International Summer School of Economics in
Serbia, a summer school in Serbia,  practice in Prolom Banja (Serbia), Summer School of Economics in Slovenia (offering innovative teaching methods, students are expected fluency in English), International Summer School of Economics in Donetsk (Ukraine).

So recently a students of the
Institute of Economics and Management returned from this Balkan country, and enthusiastically shared their impressions.

Eugene Shkileva  and Catherine Miroshkina were trained in a summer language school in
Belgrade, the course was given under the patronage of the national government and with the participation of international organizations. The trainees had the opportunity to choose one of the languages.

"Training at
SummerLanguageSchool took place form 15 to 25 June. Young people from Russia (Moscow, Ufa), Czech Republic, Austria, Greece and Serbia took courses at the Summer school. BSTU named after V.G Shukhov was represented by ten people. Of course, it was very interesting to communicate with the peers from other cities and countries. The language of communication was English, but with the time much was understandable in Serbian also. Mornings and evenings were occupied by lectures and training classes, and in the spare time, we became acquainted with the sights and rich culture of this wonderful country.  One could see many historical buildings: castles, monasteries ..., kept since the old times and visit the royal palace, the university and an open-air museum dedicated to Josip Broz Tito.

This trip surpassed all expectations. We are extremely delighted to have seen that much. We also felt the endless generous attitude of Serbsian people towards us. "

Catherine Gorbatovskaya, a trainee of  International Summer School of Economics in
Serbia recalls the school as a place  where students from Russia, Italy, Macedonia met and were able to communicate, to gain additional knowledge in the field of economics and management. They were taught by specialists from leading firms and universities in Europe and Asia. The lectures were followed by "organization schools” discussing the problems of economic development and opportunities for cooperation between countries and regions. An important component was the presentation of everyone’s region in terms of economic and tourism potential for further interaction and cooperation with other regions. It was very interesting to see the life of students in various cities and states ...

It is the fifth time Cathrene’s visit to
Serbia , and, when she was able to find  a few spare hours out of intensive and meaningful lessons, she rushed to see her Serbian friends whom she has known for several years. One of her strongest impressions was visiting the international music festival in Novi Sad.

Marina Romanovich, (an Engineer of BSTU Staff Training Center) for two years has accompanied the groups of students, who participate in the International Summer School of Economics in Donetsk. The future economists not only attend the review lectures,  but also participated in scientific discussions and had an opportunity to make a report and publish it, at the same time sharing experience with representatives of 14 countries participating. They met well-known politicians, businessmen and skilled professionals. The guys remember the Days of Culture of the participating countries, excursions with visiting historical, cultural and landscape attractions.

In 2011 our students for the first time  are expected to participate in the summer school in
Croatia, Montenegro, Poland, the CzechRepublic and Macedonia.
