Poetry recitation contest

Russia is the country which is famous for many outstanding things, but one of the most recognizable ones is connected is poetry. Russia is well known for such names as  A. Pushkin, M. Lermontov, and other greatest poets.  One of the most important part of adapting international students to Russian culture and society is teaching through the scope of understanding a Russian soul through national poetry.

This Friday, the 25th of March, a lecture hall became a venue for a significant contest among the foreign students “Recitation verses in Russian”. The feedback from the young people was great: almost three dozens of contestants and about one hundred of spectators. There was an impression that students from every corner of the Earth got together in the same space at once, so, all of them felt as if they were attending some kind of international event. Mostly, students were reading poems written by A.S.Pushkin.

Each participant performed in his own unique way, some of them were full of national tint; everybody prepared a bright screen presentation illustrating a particular poem, but both jury and the spectators were impressed by the sensitivity and penetration of every reciting student. It was very unusual to listen to the foreigner reciting verses in Russian, but in such moments you understand what an  international world is and get an idea of a national self-determination. It is not necessary to focus on any particularly successful performance, because all of them were great and outstanding.
