Problems of professional guidance being solved at BSTU

On June 1 BSTU hosted an international workshop on "Career self-determination of young people in education in different countries on an example the city of Belgorod and Baghdad.

" The organizers of an international workshop were BSTU, Educational Department of Belgorod local government and "Belgorod regional expertise and assessment centre. "
At an international workshop was attended by school principals and head teachers from  Belgorod, representatives of regional offices of the Association of Teachers of Iraq, as well as faculty staff of our university.

The session was opened by the First Vice-Rector of the University, Professor N. Shapovalov, who, on behalf of the Chancellor, Professor S.N Glagolev greeted those present and said that our university is implementing a project "Training skilled staff in demand in the labor market" which is based on the implementation of technology "Professional Youth self-determination ". The author of the Technology is an employee of the International Business Center, Ph.D. ,L.V Kondratenko. Nicholay Afanasyevich noted that technology will solve a number of issues related to career counseling and skills of youth. professional self-determination.

The Head of Education Department of Belgorod A.A. Muhartov addressed the participants. Andrei Alexandrovich said that the day before the guests from Iraq visited two educational institutions in Belgorod (school № 3 and interschool training centre), whose work gave the highest evaluation from the visitors. In the course of today's workshop, the representatives of the Republic of Iraq were not limited just by familiarizing with the Russian system of education. They also got an idea of professional training. According to A.A Muhartov in Russia every student of final grades (9-11) should have a worker’s qualification, which will not limit them in getting higher education. Today the schoolchildren get vocational training in one of proposed 20 specialties without interrupting the main school. The curriculum provides a certain number of hours. Capable children are additionally taught within "Gifted Children" program , which allows them to study in a regular school and a school for gifted children at the same time. An important point in obtaining higher education is target training on a contract basis, after which a graduate has to work for the enterprise, which paid for tuition for three years. The contract is concluded by three parties: the employer - the university - the individual (student). In conclusion, A.A Muhartov noted that the tendency to get higher education without having a prior working qualification, while studying at school, is losing the urgent character.
