University intellectual property helps develop many areas of progress
Every year on April 26, International Intellectual Property Day is celebrated. This holiday was adopted by the UN General Assembly in 1999. Belgorod State Technological University named after VG Shukhova takes an active part in the creation of objects and the protection of intellectual property rights. In 2020, scientists of the university, with the active help of employees of the department for the creation and assessment of intellectual property, prepared and sent for state registration to the Federal Institute of Industrial Property 123 applications for protected results of intellectual activity. There have been registered 145 documents of title for inventions, utility models, industrial designs, computer programs and databases, know-how production secrets. As a result of the work of the commission to review the maintenance of patents, the copyright holder of which is BSTU inamed after V.G. Shukhov, supported by 277 patents for inventions, utility models and industrial designs.
The total number of intellectual property objects supported by the university as of December 31, 2020 was 915 units. At the XXIII Moscow International Salon of Inventions and Innovative Technologies "Archimedes-2020" BSTU named after V.G. Shukhova presented 5 innovative projects in various areas. By the decision of the expert commission of the Salon and the international jury, all projects were awarded with diplomas and medals:
- gold medal for the project "Development of a machine vision system for detecting defects in sanding paper",
- silver medals for the projects "Technology for processing gypsum-containing waste from industrial enterprises" and "Method for obtaining a hydrophobizing water emulsion for coatings of building materials",
- bronze medals for the projects "The software complex for property management of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation" and "Highly efficient energy-saving equipment for producing cube-shaped crushed stone and composite materials." Also, the flagship university took part in absentia in the International Exhibition of Inventions "INVENTICA-2020" (Iasi, Romania), presenting the developments: "Multilayer polymer-carbon composite for protection from space impact and a method for its production", "Integrated technology for processing gypsum-containing waste industrial enterprises ”and“ The software component of the property classifier of the constituent entities of the Russian Federation ”. The developments were marked with honorary diplomas and were awarded gold medals as winners of the competition program. Employees of the Department of Creation and Evaluation of Intellectual Property Objects of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhova, together with employees of university departments, took an active part in online conferences, seminars, webinars, which were organized by the World Intellectual Property Organization, the Federal Service for Intellectual Property and the Skolkovo Technopark.
