Strong connection between BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov and national associations of Alumni
First joint meeting of the International Commonwealth Association and the heads of the national associations of the Arab countries ,agraduates of Russian (Soviet) universities took place in a remote format. The main leitmotif of the meeting was the intensification of interaction between Russian-Arab relations in the field of education and culture.
Representatives of 16 countries discussed the most important issues of forming and establishing strong ties with national associations of graduates of Russian and Soviet universities, who today live and work outside our country. Including: His Excellency Ambassadors of Syria and Palestine, heads of national associations, representatives of Rossotrudnichestvo and the Association of Russian Diplomats, Ambassadors Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Syrian Arab Republic and Palestine in Russia, Chairman of the Union of the Association of Russian Diplomats, Minister of Investment Policy of Syria, Chairman of the Union of Arab Alumni of Soviet and Russian universities, president of the club of graduates of Soviet and Russian universities in Jordan "Avicena", chairmen of the association of alumni of Iraq, Egypt, Morocco, Syria, Bahrain, Israel, Palestine, the Sultanate of Oman, Yemen, Kuwait, USSR universities in Lebanon, Tunisia, chairman of the association Palestinians living in Lebanon, the first secretary of the Sudanese embassy. The Vice-Rector for International Affairs of BSTU named after V.I. V.G. Shukhova Ruslan Lesovik: “We are faced with the tasks of implementing joint projects to strengthen the position of the Russian language and culture outside of Russia, as well as to form a positive image and an objective view of modern Russia abroad”. General Director of the Association "International Commonwealth" at BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov Tatyana Balabanova noted that in the national project "Export of Education" the task is not only to attract talented foreign applicants from other countries, but also to create public organizations that will maximally establish or restore friendly ties.
During the online meeting, issues were discussed such as the activities of the association and the procedure for joining it, the creation of a council of elders of the Association "International Commonwealth", the holding of the international competition "The Best Association of Foreign Graduates of Russian (Soviet) Universities-2021" and the forum of public diplomacy, and also many other questions.
