The Year of Science and Technology at BSTU
n the initiative of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin, 2021 was held under the auspices of the Year of Science and Technology. For this year, on the basis of the BSTU im. V.G. Shukhov hosted more than a thousand scientific events. All of them were aimed at different audiences: schoolchildren, applicants, students, the scientific community, young scientists and society as a whole. Innovative activity
Shukhov University professors carry out extensive work not only in the field of training highly qualified specialists, but also in the field of scientific research and discoveries.
In 2021 BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, under the Priority-2030 program, was included in the list of 106 universities from 49 cities of Russia, which won the basic part of the grant in the amount of 100 million rubles. The University, together with enterprises - industrial partners, is carrying out 6 projects within the framework of the Program for the activities of a world-class scientific and educational center "Innovative solutions in the agro-industrial complex". BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov is a part of the world-class scientific and educational center "Innovative solutions in the agro-industrial complex", created by the regional government. In 2021, scientists of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov took part in competitions: "On measures of state support for the development of cooperation of Russian higher educational institutions and organizations implementing complex projects to create high-tech production"; to create new scientific laboratories within the framework of the national project "Science and Universities"; to receive grants from the Government of the Russian Federation for state support of scientific research conducted under the supervision of leading scientists in Russian educational institutions of higher education, scientific institutions and state scientific centers of the Russian Federation; grants and scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation; Russian Science Foundation; grants for scientists of the Belgorod region; Presidential Prizes in Science and Innovation for Young Scientists; the annual prize of Vladimir Grigorievich Shukhov; Engineer of the Year; intra-university competitions of scientific projects, etc. In 2021, 2 projects are being implemented under the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 218, under the leadership of Dr. Tech. Sciences, prof. S.V. Sverguzova and Dr. Sciences, prof. L.A. Fisherman.
The project of the Russian Science Foundation was supported in the competition for "Conducting fundamental scientific research and exploratory research by individual scientific groups" under the leadership of Cand. phys.-mat. Sciences V.V. An orphan. BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov received funding for the creation of two new laboratories within the framework of the national project "Science and Universities", under the leadership of Cand. tech. Sci. S.V. Klyuev and Cand. tech. Sciences N.I. Cherkashina. According to the results of the 2021 competition for the right to receive grants from the President of the Russian Federation for state support of young Russian scientists - candidates of science, Nikolai Sergeevich Lyubimy, Cand. tech. sciences. The winners of the competition for the right to receive a scholarship from the President of the Russian Federation in 2021 were 7 young scientists of BSTU named after I. V.G. Shukhov. Within the framework of the annual intra-university competition of innovative projects “Cup of young innovators of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov "for students, postgraduates and young scientists of the university, which is one of the mechanisms for the functioning of practice-oriented training of professional personnel in project-based teaching technology, 88 applications were submitted, of which 72 were innovative projects in the priority area of regional socio-economic development, 16 social projects. 1st place - Koryakina Alina, postgraduate student of the SIGC department;
2nd place - Savvin Nikita, post-graduate student of the Department of Thermal Gestation;
3rd place - Alexander Tikhonov, Master's student of the Department of PTiDM.

1st place - Konstantin Starchenko, Master's student of the Department of AK;

In 2021, our university launched the Startup as a Diploma program, within which students can defend their final qualifying work in the startup format. More than 100 students have already expressed a desire to take part in the program and 30 have defended their projects at a pitch session in front of invited experts and investors.
To involve students in technological entrepreneurship, the Boiling Point of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov, a pre-acceleration program for the markets of the National Technology Initiative was organized.
There are 514 students and employees became members of the NTI Pre-Accelerator, within the framework of which 36 teams were formed, 12 of which were selected to participate in the federal Demo Day and defended projects in front of NTI experts, representatives of foundations and development institutions.
Small Technological University BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
In September 2021 on the basis of BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov, the final stage of the All-Russian competition among students of educational institutions of rural settlements and small towns "AgroNTI-2021" was held. One of the directions of which is "AgroRobots", which introduces schoolchildren to robotics in agriculture.
As a result of the passage of this competition, the participants received such theoretical and practical knowledge as the design of agricultural robots, their control indoors, in the field and with a load.
Department of training of highly qualified personnel
The department for training highly qualified personnel is actively working with young scientists, university employees to achieve high results in scientific activities. In 2021, 4 doctoral and 12 master's theses were successfully defended in the dissertation councils of the university. In the Year of Science and Technology, 67 graduate students received a scholarship from the Governor of the Belgorod Region, 3 graduate students and 2 doctoral students received a scholarship from the Governor of the Belgorod Region named after Academician V.G. Shukhov. For high achievements in scientific activity, 2 graduate students were awarded scholarships of the President of the Russian Federation, 3 graduate students were awarded a scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation. Traditionally, employees, teachers and students took part in the IX Regional Science Festival within the framework of the All-Russian Festival "Nauka 0+". Also in 2021, an interactive exhibition "Touch Science" was organized, where the scientific developments of young scientists of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
More than 5,000 undergraduate and graduate students took part in the implementation of research work in 2021.
To date, according to the results of the work carried out by young scientists of the university, about 2,200 theses and articles have been published, about 500 student works have participated in competitions for the best research work, more than 300 awards have been received for participation in competitions for the best research work and exhibitions, about 80 student projects participated in grant competitions, of which 12 became winners.
"VUZPROMEXPO-2021"
Scientists BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov took part in the VIII Annual National Exhibition "VUZPROMEXPO-2021".
Two projects from the university were presented at the high-tech exposition: "Creation of high-tech large-scale production of animal protein from fly larvae", under the direction of Dr. Tech. Sciences, prof. Department of Industrial Ecology Zhanna Sapronova, "Multi-robotic system for aliquoting bio-samples", under the direction of Dr. Tech. Sciences, prof. Department of Mechanical Engineering Technology Larisa Rybak.
"Mind games"
In Sevastopol, a three-day multi-format marathon for representatives of student media "Mind Games" was held based on the Year of Science and Technology. 6 teams competed in the final, each of which had 13-14 representatives from different universities. They were awaited by tasks related to the most important events of the Year of Science and Technology. The teams were led by multi-million dollar influencers who were to create a standalone digital publication and prepare content for four online platforms in order to collect the maximum number of likes, reposts and comments.
BSTU student V.G. Shukhov Alexander Shirobokov became not just a part of this grandiose media event, for three days he worked in a team that eventually became the winner of the marathon.
Section
As part of the festival of ideas and technologies of the NTI circle movement, the best circle members of the Belgorod region were awarded.
We understand the circle as a team of enthusiasts who accept current technological challenges and successfully cope with them. One of the best teams of enthusiasts in 2021 was the team of the Belgorod State Technological University named after V.I. V.G. Shukhov under the leadership of the Director of the Small Technological University of BSTU named after V.G. ShukhovNatalia Altynnik. The festival was held as part of the 100th anniversary of the circle movement. The Year of Science and Technology became a kind of PR campaign, which turned out to be quite successful for Shukhov students.
Colossal work has been done in every region of our country, all this has played a huge role in popularizing science and attracting talented youth to the field of science.
