Cooperation with Syria
On May 24, an online meeting was held with the Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation Natalya Bocharova. It discussed the upcoming trip to the Syrian Arab Republic. Leading universities of Russia took part in the meeting. Belgorod State Technological University named after V. G. Shukhov was represented by Vice-Rector for International Affairs Professor Ruslan Lesovik and Deputy Director of the Center for International Education and Cooperation Professor Yaser Allaham. Ruslan Valeryevich spoke about the progress of the construction of the Center for the Russian Language and Culture of BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov in Latakia, as well as about conferences and laboratory classes, which are held jointly with Syrian colleagues.
Now on the territory of Latakia, the work of the International Scientific and Educational Center "Theory and Practice of the Restoration of Destroyed Cities" is underway. Together with the professors of the Department of Building Materials Science, Products and Structures, the training of masters and graduate students will begin. Teachers of the flagship university of the Belgorod region conduct classes in the Russian language for students of Syrian universities. In addition, 20 places were allocated for the participation of Syrian students in the program of the summer school "Study + Vacation" of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov.
Deputy Minister Natalya Bocharova noted Belgorod Technological University and thanked the university for active cooperation with Syrian colleagues.
