Strategic objectives of the Council of Rectors of Regional Universities
Belgorod hosted a meeting of the Council of Rectors of universities in the region chaired by the rector of BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov prof. Sergei Glagolev. The venue was National Research University "BelSU". Previously, the participants were given a tour of the botanical garden, campus and laboratories of the university. A number of important issues were discussed at the meeting. Andrey Milekhin, Minister of Education of the Belgorod Region, stressed the need to attract talented applicants to Belgorod universities, which are quite capable of competing with those in the capital.
Particular attention was paid to the participation of universities in the region in the implementation of the program of work of the REC "Innovative solutions in the agro-industrial complex" and new opportunities for inter-university cooperation. The discussion also touched upon the socio-cultural adaptation of foreign students as a tool for multicultural education, reducing interethnic conflicts and countering terrorism and extremism. The meeting approved the composition of the Council of Rectors of Belgorod Region universities and the work plan for the 2022–2023 academic year.
