The delegation of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov started work at the Forum of Regions

The day before, a two-day IX Forum of the Regions of Belarus and Russia started in Grodno. It brought together almost 500 representatives of more than 50 constituent entities of the Russian Federation, all regions of Belarus and Minsk. This is the first meeting in this format after a two-year break. The participants will consider issues of trade and economic relations, measures for import substitution, accelerating the implementation of 28 union integration programs signed by the presidents of Belarus and Russia in November last year. The forum will include six thematic sections, a plenary session, the Business Cooperation Council, and an exposition of the achievements of the union economy. All these platforms will discuss the prospects for further interaction between the regions of Russia and friendly Belarus. Participation in the forum is taken by the Vice-Rector for International Affairs of BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov Ruslan Lesovik.

“It will be most interesting for our university to participate in the discussion of a program of joint scientific research in priority areas of development, such as nuclear energy, the interaction of universities in the scientific and technological field. BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov has something to offer in this sense, ”explained Ruslan Valeryevich. The fact that the flagship university of the region is positioned as a construction university does not prevent it from working with various sectors of the national economy, emphasized the Vice-Rector for International Affairs. “Currently, Technologist scientists are developing technologies for the production of animal protein from the black soldier fly. We also work in the nuclear industry — we develop systems that protect against radiation, not only for stationary reactors, but also for transport ones. Now one of our developments is undergoing sea trials in space at the International Space Station.

We are ready to reorganize and adapt to our future Belarusian partners. I am sure that at the end of the forum we will return home with a number of signed agreements on mutually beneficial cooperation,” summed up Ruslan Lesovik.
