The Russian scientific public organization, founded on June 20, 2012, leads its succession from the Imperial Russian Historical Society, which existed in the Russian Empire in 1866-1917. The task of the current Russian Historical Society is to unite the efforts of statesmen and public figures, scientists, art historians and history buffs to form an all-Russian historical culture based on an objective study, coverage and popularization of domestic and world history, and the preservation of national memory. Recall that on February 17, 2022, a regional branch of the Russian Historical Society was established in the Belgorod Region. The goal set by its founders, including the rector of BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov S.N. Glagolev, to unite the efforts of all - university professors, school teachers, scientists and archive workers, librarians and museum workers, cultural workers and even reenactors, so that historical memory based on the values of true patriotism and high citizenship becomes a consolidating idea for studying history and passing it on to our descendants .
