A Delegation from Serbia on a Visit

 

On October 31, the delegation of the University of Pristina (Serbia) visited Belgorod State Technological University Shukhov. The delegation included the University Rector, Prof. Dr. Zdravko Vitoshevich, Dean of the Faculty of Economics, Doctor, Professor Srecko Milachech, Dean of Pedagogic Faculty, Prof. Dr. Radivoje Kulich, General Secretary of Alumni Association of Russian and Soviet universities in Serbia and Montenegro, Petar Paykovich.

 

The purpose of the visit is signing a cooperation agreement with BSTU named after V.G. Shukhov for further improving educational and research activities.

 


By tradition, the guests laid flowers ato the monument to Vladimir Shukhov, and then met with First Vice- Chancellor of the Technological University, Professor N. Shapovalov and president of the university, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor A.M. Gridchin . In his opening speech, N.A. Shapovalov briefly described the structure of the university, academic activities and areas of training. "Our higher educational institution would be interested in  students and lecturers exchange. We already have a similar experience with the University of Nis (Serbia). Today, we are interested in joint research projects, participation in international conferences, various projects and programs "
The president of the university, Professor A.M. Gridchin stressed that "for the exchange of student delegations, the university has created all necessary conditions: on-campus student accommodation , catering facilities, a sanatorium, Students’ Art Centre, sports facilities, a stadium. Here you can live without leaving the campus”.

  

The Rector the University of Pristina, professor Zdravko Vitoshevich, in turn, expressed his gratitude for the hospitality and said: "Our school also has a developed infrastructure. As an independent educational institution, the university has worked since 1970. And today it is the only based university, training about 11 thousand students. At ten departments you  can obtain knowledge of philology, law, history, mathematics, medicine, art, and others. "Dr. Zdravko Vitoshevich said that the university is interested in two areas - strengthening the ties between our two brotherly peoples and the establishment of mutually beneficial cooperation between the universities. At the end of the reception the guests exchanged gifts and souvenirs.

The meeting was followed by a tour of the university, conducted by the first vice-chancellor of the University, Professor N. Shapovalov and vice-rector for International Relations, Professor R.V. Lesovik. Serbian delegation was introduced to modern educational technologies, being used at the department of mechanical equipment. The scientists at the section of "Nanosystems in building materials science" presented the guests the scientific developments in the field of nanotechnology. The Interest of Serbian colleagues was brought to the innovative features of the central security and control room of the university, providing control over water and power consumption, and monitors the safety of students and academic staff. The guests visited the museum and the exhibition center and swimming pool under construction.

The program of stay of the Serbian delegation, scheduled for two days  includes the city tour, visiting the museum-diorama "Kursk battle" meeting with the academic staff and the students of the Institute of Economics and Management, signing of a cooperation agreement, a press conference.
