During the full moon night on February 2-3, the world celebrated a coming New year by the oriental calendar. On the eve of the favorite festival the Chinese traditionally stick red signs on their doors containing holiday greetings and make fireworks. The people stay awake all night enjoying the holiday, which is called ”shou soui” in Chinese, which is translated as «to take care of the holiday».

During the Christmas holidays the representatives of Foreign Students Association from BSTU visited Prokhorovka Orthodox orphanage-school named after the holy apostles Peter and Paul.

On 17 November, on the eve of International Students Day, BSTU named after V.G Shukhov organized a show-program "Student of the Year 2010".
